LAMBRUSCO PROVINCIA DI MANTOVA IGP

Al Scagarün, the name in dialect (meaning black wine) of this Lambrusco echoes the words of popular wisdom. So dark it is almost black, if spilled on the tablecloth it leaves a stain impossible to remove.

Sparkling and spontaneous, its flavour has remained unchanged since it was developed twenty years ago in the Lebovitz winery. It is ideally combined with the local cuisine, especially meat dishes. Its fruity acidity, and a froth that cheerfully cleanses the palate, remove any sense of fattiness in the food.

A sparkling red wine that fully satisfies those who want to drink the local wines and who enjoy a young wine that still has a natural effervescence and generous fruity hintsof cherry and sour black cherry. We recommend serving it at a temperature of between 12°C and 15 °C and to be generous with its lively purple froth.

COMBINING WITH FOODS

Lambrusco Al Scagarün is an eclectic wine that goes well even with very different dishes. But it is at its best with the local culinary traditions: the distinct flavours of Mantuan foodhelp its freshness and brio emerge spontaneously. So what is the perfect Mantuan meal for our Lambrusco? Meat meat may opt for guinea fowl tortelli or a tasty risotto alla pilota as a first course, to be followed by donkey stracotto accompanied by soft polenta; for those who prefer the river fish, on the other hand, the choice may fall on a rich dish of bigoli with pike sauce or catfish risotto. Ah, and don’t forget: a drop of Lambrusco Mantovano can add extra yumminess to the zabaglione that goes so well with our crumbly sbrisolona cake.
